The fab is the heart of WeBuyBadRAM: a slow, hands-on repair and re-binning bench. Most of what arrives needs real work, and plenty can't be saved. Doing that work is the only reason we can pay for memory everyone else writes off.

The idea

A single error isn't a death sentence

Most resellers grade memory pass/fail and bin anything with a flaw. That throws away a lot of perfectly good silicon. A stick with three bad sectors is still tens of gigabits of working memory.

We treat faults as something to diagnose, not fear. Some of what arrives can be recovered, repaired, or honestly re-binned. Plenty genuinely can't be saved, and that gets assessed and recycled responsibly.

Techniques

How we bring memory back

Four core techniques turn questionable modules into dependable, honestly-specced parts.

Bad-sector remapping

We map out failing cells and route around them to spare rows, so a module's stable capacity stays fully usable instead of being thrown away over a few bad addresses.

Reflow & reball

Cracked or cold solder joints under the DRAM packages are reflowed, and reballed when needed. When it works, an intermittent or no-POST module comes back. Plenty don't.

Extended MemTest86 burn-in

Every module runs multiple MemTest86 passes across moving-inversion patterns to flush out the faults that only appear under sustained load and heat.

Re-binning by stable speed

If a stick can't hold its rated speed, we re-bin it to the frequency and timings it runs reliably. Honest specs on every part we resell.
